Public Library

Started on 03.07.2000 in a small room with only 50 books, Prachi Pathagara now holds more than 6,900 volumes and 300 journal titles, serving over 50,000 local people and doubling as an information centre for employment and government schemes.

Mother & Child Health (MCH)

Odisha has one of the highest infant and maternal mortality rates in the country. PYSO runs awareness camps and RCH services in its operational area, reaching more than 500 women through recent programmes.

Running of School

Since 2002, PYSO has run an innovative school at Kakatpur enrolling more than 250 children up to 5th standard, with trained teachers, joyful learning methods, and yoga classes for health and character building.

Disaster Preparedness

Odisha is prone to cyclone, flood and drought. Since the devastating 1999 super-cyclone, PYSO has run community-based Disaster Preparedness programmes in Kakatpur G.P. to reduce the impact of future disasters.

Agadhu Kamala Hospital

A free charitable hospital run by PYSO at Kakatpur, offering 24-hour care for pediatric, gynaecology, skin infection, malaria and gastro-intestinal cases to the underserved population of Kakatpur and Astarang block.

HIV / AIDS Awareness Camp

Rallies, meetings and poster campaigns are organised regularly in Kakatpur and Astarang to spread awareness, in partnership with the CECN NGO network, since prevention remains the only effective response.

Book Exhibition

The annual Kakatpur Pustak Mela brings publishers, booksellers, poetry seminars and cultural programmes to the community, encouraging reading in an age of growing digital distraction.

Health Camp

Free health camps organised through the year with visiting specialists have treated hundreds of patients — including camps led by senior neurology and medical college doctors.

Programmes on Women & Children

Women's self-help groups are formed through awareness and training camps in Kakatpur and Kenderapati G.P., alongside consultations on child labour protection in Kakatpur block.
